You may be asking, What are the Estates in Owerri Imo State?
Well, Owerri have a good Number of Estates both those with and without names. Owerri also has some Estates that are strictly Residential and some that are both Residential and Commercial.
Today we will list the Estates in Owerri and where they are located at. firstly, let us have a brief on Owerri.

 

ABOUT OWERRI – The Capital of Imo State of Nigeria.

Some usually ask the Question, Is Owerri a Good Place to live? and the answer is, Yes Owerri is a very good place to live.

Aside being called the Eastern Heartland, Owerri is also referred to as the enjoyment city and entertainment capital of Nigeria due to its high standard beautiful hotels, classy local Bars, Restaurants, casinos, clubs, expensive lounges, night lifestyle, and amazing relaxation centers.

Today we want to make a list of the Estates in the Owerri City and there locations within the city

 

1) Udenwa Estate:

Our number 1 on the list is Achike Udenwa Estate Owerri,

A luxurious Estate which made it as the Number 1 in our list of the Top 5 Most Expensive Estates in Owerri.
Udenwa Estate is Located in a calm serene area known as New Owerri.
Gated with good security and well paved roads all round.

2) Royal Garden Estate.

Our number 2 on the list is Royal Gardens Estate Owerri, again a luxurious Estate which made it to the Number 2 in our list of the Top 5 Most Expensive Estates in Owerri.

Royal Garden Estate is Located also at New Owerri. a gated Estate with good security but the roads are not so fantastic as they are not yet tared at the moment, but it hasn’t stop them from building MEGA LUXURY Houses in the Estate as that is the standard they have all over as you can see in this photo

3) Graceland Estate.

Our number 3 on the list is Graceland Estate Owerri, a well planned and designed Estate which made it as the Number 3 in our list of the Top 5 Most Expensive Estates in Owerri.

Graceland Estate is Located in an ideal place in town known as Egbada this area is situated on a freeway sitting between Owerri Onisha Express Road on one end and Amakaohia Orlu Road on the other end and can be accessed from both ways.

4) Hero’s Serviced Estate.

Hero’s Apartments Estate Owerri is a standard Gated and Fully Serviced Community located in New Owerri towards Concord Hotel area and this Estate comprises of only 1 Bedroom Apartments.

It a residential Estate with mostly Fully Furnished units with Hotel Standard Services. Hero’s runs as a Fully Furnished and Serviced Holiday Homes, Short-Let or Short Term Weekly, Monthly or Long-Term Rentals and they offers up to 18 hours electricity supply daily including other services provided for service charge paid.

5) Heartland Housing Estate.

Our number 4 on the list is Heartland Estate Owerri, Imo State

Predominantly a Bungalow only Estate Heartland is a well arranged and designed Estate which made it as the Number 5 in our list of the Top 5 Most Expensive Estates in Owerri.

Heartland Estate is Located a little further from town off Port-Harcourt Road after the New Owerri in an area between Avu and Obinze in Owerri West.
Heartland Estate sits about Ideal place for people who wish to live a bit away from the busy town or those who shuttle between Owerri and Port-Harcourt.

Located directly off Port-Harcourt road about 8 kilometers from Control Roundabout, it enjoys a decent setback away from the Port-harcourt Expressway.
Heartland Estate is gated and also with good security, the roads tared roads all round with good Estate plan, well ventilated and street descriptions.

6) Hilltop Estate.

Our number 5 on the list is Hilltop Estate Owerri, It is a very secured Estate which also made it as the Number 4 in our list of the Top 5 Most Expensive Estates in Owerri.
Hilltop Estate is Located at Irete off Owerri-Onisha Road and is Ideal place for those who shuttle between Owerri and Onisha.

Located about 4 kilometer drive from Control Roundabout on a street known as DSS Street. Hilltop Estate is gated with extremely tight security at the gate which is managed by security operatives.
the Estate roads are actually not tared nor paved but we hope it will be done soon.

7) Beaula Beach Estate.

Beaula Beach Estate Owerri springs from the Developers of Graceland Estate comes this amazing Estate of similar kind, prototype of Fully Detached Houses, Semi-Detached Duplexes, Terraces and Bungalows which are all designed and built by the Developer and sold as same.
This Estate is located close to Fire service, close to Shoprite off Egbu Road by the “soon be moved” Cow meat butchery.
The Phase 1 of the Estate is well occupied, gated with security and roads tared, while the Phase 2 is coming up fast.

 

8) Gold Palm Estate.

Gold Palm Estate Owerri is strictly residential and is one of the Estates with the best Estate plan and layout I’ve seen in Owerri. The Estate is located off Port-Harcourt road and is close to Heartland Housing Estate.

Like Graceland Estate, Gold Palm Estate is also an Estate with designated specific area for Duplexes and Bungalows separate from each other, the difference is here you can build to your taste any kind of structure you desire, so long as it is either a Detached Duplex or a Detached Bungalow. Gold Palm Estate has few residents who have built there houses and moved in regardless of its state.
It is gradually developing with many uncompleted structures from mostly Igbos living abroad/diaspora and undeveloped plots from same.so when you want to buy a Plot to build here, kindly contact us to know what kind of plot you buying and what is permitted to build on what you purchase so you don’t buy on the wrong side..

 

9) Royal Estate.

Royal Estate Owerri is a well set not so big Estate in New Owerri towards Ojukwu Library Owerri, it is well built-up with Estate gate security and the roads are well tared.
Its a mixed of residential and commercial Estates as you will find a massive Hospital and an Hotel within the Estate. it is a calm, mini and serene place where you can build your choice of residential duplex or blocks of flats or commercial property.

 

10) Federal Housing Estate Egbada.

Egbada Housing Estate Owerri is Located about 6 kilometers from Control Roundabout it sits off Owerri-Onisha and also about 8 kilometers from Orlu Road after Federal Medical Center Owerri.
it is also not far from Graceland Estate.

Federal Housing Estate Egbada is a pretty old Estate with more of old massive houses than new ones.
The Estate also gated Housing with security that observes visitors. the Estate is a mix of Residential and Commercial as you will find Schools, Shops and Hospitals amongst all in there. the roads are not tarred and are pretty bumpy and we hope they fix it some day as it enjoys a very serene part of town easily accessible to Town via Onisha or Orlu Road.

 

11) Federal Housing Estate Extension Egbada & Egbada Housing Estate Extension.

This Two Estates share a common fences but separate gate access.
The two Estates are simply (as their names describe the) an Extension of Federal Housing Estate Egbada, with the 3 in close proximity they share the same similarities except that the Extensions have more modern buildings and is on the opposite side of the road from the above old Estate.

 

12) Emmanuel Emenike Estate.

Emmanuel Emenike Estate is a really mini Estate in New Owerri towards Concord Hotel axis. it is a small Estate of not more than 15 Duplexes in a gated compound with paved roads. as at 2023 it was under renovation and we expect our Football supper star will come out with a fantastic upgrade when done.. this is one of his few estates in the South East.

 

13) The Royal Spring Palm Estate.

Royal Spring Estate Owerri one of finest is located off Naze Road towards Owerri-Aba Road.
unfortunately this estate is shut-down at the moment and non functional.
we will update you all on this Estate when we get more updates on the status so far.

 

14) Desire Homes Estate.

Desire Homes Estate Owerri in a mini Estate located within New Owerri off Port-Harcourt road after Imo Secretariat.

It is an small Estate of about 30 buildings comprising of 5 Bedrooms Fully-detached and 4 Bedrooms Semi-detached houses in a mini Gated Serviced Estate with good roads and easy access to PH Express and town.

 

15) Citadel Estate Owerri.

Citadel Estate Owerri is an expensive mini Estate located on the side of World Bank around Federal Secretariat off Port-Harcourt road.

It is an Estate of proposed 50  Detached houses and still developing. The houses comprises of massive 5 Bedrooms Fully-detached Duplex only and are built on a massive plot size of 700sqm and have 2 rooms boys quarters sitting behind each with a private garage parking and large compound space.

 

16) Hilltop Estate Extension.

Hilltop Estate Extension Owerri is an Extension of Hilltop Estate which shares a common fence with Hilltop Estate but doesn’t share the same access gate.

The Estate is well built up with modern structures, mixed with residential and a few hotels, schools and churches but still has a not fantastic roads. we hope Landlords in Owerri will learn to come together and fix there Estate roads and understand it will give great value to there properties.

 

17) World Bank Housing Estate.

World Bank Housing Estate Owerri is a massive Estate community designed into different layouts by the Imo Govt long ago. World Bank Estate is shared in sections and numbered alphabetically from AREA A to AREA Z. it is Located in Umuguma which is in Owerri West. The Estate is an Open Estate and every Area/Zone is allowed to set up there own security.

World Bank Housing Estate is designed to have different areas designated for Low-rise (Bungalows) and High-rise (Duplexes) buildings. most of the Bungalows within the Bungalow area are old and where built by the then Government for civil servants, so some people buy and pull the old structure down and build a new modern Bungalow.

World bank is a highly populated area and is a very busy area and the residents enjoy the commercials, restaurants, bars, retails, shopping plazas, eateries, saloons and more of all this located on the freeways major roads of this Community.

World bank has many Schools including mega Schools such as Claret Academy and also has a major Government Hospital knows as General Hospital Umuguma Owerri West.
World Bank Estate has one of the major local markets in Owerri located at Area M next to Area A.

The residents also enjoy the comfort of having 3 major mega Banks sitting within there community which are UBA Bank, First Bank and Fidelity Bank located in Area A facing Port-Harcourt Road.
World Bank roads are not so fantastic but some Areas/Zone have better tared roads than the other.

 

18) Federal Housing Estate World Bank.

Federal Housing Estate Owerri is just close to World Bank Housing Estate towards Port-Harcourt road by Hospital Junction.

This area is a fast developing area with modern Duplexes and Flats coming up pretty fast. it is also a mixed community with both residential and commercial properties including Schools, hotels, restaurants and bars.

 

19) Imo Housing Estate.

Imo Housing Estate Owerri which is also known as Umuguma Housing Estate also shares a common boundary with World Bank Housing Estate and extends down towards World Bank Last Roundabout which also connects you to Hospital Junction and Federal Housing Estate Umuguma. Imo/Umuguma Housing Estate is developed with with both old and modern Duplexes and Flats and more still fast developing. it is also a mixed community with both residential and commercial projects such as schools, retails, restaurants and supermarkets. the roads just as the other two above are not so fantastic or tarred.

 

20) Aladimma Housing Estate.

Aladimma Housing Estate Owerri is an old yet well organized, serene Open Estate with good roads. located between Egbu Owerri Mbaise Road and Ikenegbu Layout.

Aladimma enjoys good ambiance as most of its areas are more of a Bungalow community. It has easy access to Town and not far to Shoprite

21) Redemption Estate.

Redemption Estate Owerri is located in Owerri West off Port-Harcourt Road after Heartland Estate. sitting in Obinze about 9 kilometers from Control Roundabout.

The estate is a residential and commercial Estate as you will see from the gate entrance where you will see a mini market, it is built up and has both blocks of Apartments and Duplexes. the roads are not so good and very bumpy and we hope the Landlords will come together and work it out without waiting for the Govt.

 

22) Iwuanyawu Estate.

Iwuanyawu Estate Owerri is located in Owerri West off Port-Harcourt Road before you get to Heartland Estate, 7 kilometers from Control Roundabout.

The Estate is a massive Estate with very few developed Structure, it has a very few completed houses that have occupants and has more of underdeveloped plots and some huge uncompleted buildings where some are occupied by miscreants.

The roads are bad and we hope soon the Owners of the many bushy plots will come and develop the or give Mc Capital Properties to help them develop or to help them to sell them to those looking to buy Plots to start there building projects in Owerri Imo State.

 

23) Crystal City Estate.

Crystal City Estate Owerri is Located at Avu close to Avu junction off Port-Harcourt Road. The Estate is gated with security and fast developing and the buildings are pretty modern structures. the roads are not tarred but they area also not bad as the Estate is not so big and is very close to the Express.

 

24) Akanawu Estate. 

Akanawu Estate Owerri is located just after World Bank and Umuguma, we can also say it is inside Umuguma. The estate is a residential and commercial Estate, it is well built up and has both blocks of Apartments and Duplexes.

 

25) Chinelo Estate.

Chinelo Estate Owerri, as I named it is a mini gated Estate located in New Owerri off Port-Harcourt road about 3 kilometers from Control Roundabout.
the Estate has two Phase and both totals about 50 buildings comprising of 4 bedroom Semi-Detached Duplexes and  5 Bedrooms Detached Duplexes. it is close to the main road for quick access and has a pretty good Estate roads.

The buildings are prototype and already built ready by the Developer for people who are looking for ready properties to buy and save themselves the stress of building from scratch.

 

26) Okohia Estate.

Okohia Estate Owerri is located close to World Bank Housing Estate and can be accessed from from Owerri-Onisha road via Coca-Cola road or Port-Harcourt Road via Dreamland Hotel roundabout.

Okohia does not have great roads as at 2023 but has gated access from both entry ends, not yet well built up for now but houses are coming really really fast and with that soon will come supper fast development

The Govt allocated Estate has great prospects as the plots are sizable to about 700-800sqm and noting is stopping really Expensive beyond what you expect from how it looks presently.

some of the plots go for as high as 40 million Naira.
So keep in mind that both the plots and the houses in Okohia Estate Owerri are pretty pricy regardless of how you see it.

 

27) Arugo Gardens Estate Owerri.

This Estate is kind of an Old standard Estate but we organized and pretty cool. recently some cool new upgraded and renovated houses are coming up gradually.

Arugo Garden Estate Owerri is located off Onisha road and can also be accessed via Orlu road. it is a decent place to live and the houses are a little pricy.

 

28) Rochas Estate Owerri.

Update will come about this Estate soon as we get one.

 

These are the few Estates we have gathered so far, but there are other minor estates not in the list and we promise we will update the list as more Estate comes up.

My Suggestion on Property Developments in Owerri:

I do hope that soon the Landlords who own properties located inside Estates in Owerri will learn to come together and fix there Estate roads understanding that this will very well increase the value to there properties. you cant have those expensive luxury beautiful houses while everyday you be driving in the dirty mud of pond water. then you expect to rent your property to quality tenants at a good rate.
